Atomizers:
The old fashioned, non-aerosol way to apply fixative.
Place the short tube in your mouth and the long tube in your
bottle of fixative. Blow gently and evenly aiming at your
drawing. Great for air travel when you can't pack aerosols.
Can also be used to spray watercolor and thinned acrylics
for special effects.
Brush Mats:
These bamboo brush mats have a 100% cotton cloth
sleeve sewn into the bottom. Just insert brush handles into
the sleeve and roll up. Brushes can air dry through the bamboo
slats while remaining protected during transport.
Glass Paint:
Glass painting is receiving a lot of attention these
days, and hand painted crystal is showing up at crafts fairs
and bazaars. Try making your own with these kits of high quality
glass paints. One kit comes with two champagne flutes, and
another is accompanied by a how-to video.
Hand and
Brush Soap: The Art Box carries Winsor
and Newton's Artwipes, Artgel and Artguard
to protect your hands and help clean oil and acrylic paints
from your brushes. We also carry Master's Hand Soap
and Master's Brush Soap to keep you and your brushes
squeeky clean. Master's Brush Cleaner can be used on
Red Sable or any type of bristle brushes. Effective in cleaning
oil, acrylic or watercolor residues.
Linoleum
and Block Printing Supplies: The Art Box carries
precut Battleship Grey Linoleum in 12"x12" squares that can
be cut to any size. They can be used loose or mounted to a
wood block. We also stock linoleum cutting tools and block
printing inks and rollers.
Natural Sponges:
The Art Box carries natural sponges in a
variety of sizes and shapes. They can be used for watercolor
blending techniques and for blending and shading charcoal
and pastels. We are always finding new uses for natural sponges.
We used a huge natural sponge when we painted our floor.
Origami:
The Art Box carries a wide assortment of Origami
Papers. We stock metallic, animal prints, holographic, and
geometric design papers. We also have the more traditional
papers in three sizes. Instruction books are available.
Portfolios:
We carry a variety of inexpensive portfolios. They
range from colorful fiberboard styles with plastic strap handles
to zippered models made from heavy black pebble finished board
with hinged plastic drop handles. The portfolios are available
in a number of sizes.
Rub and Buff:
This terrific compound is a metallic finish in a
wax base. It is used for antiquing, crafts, and decorating.
We use it as one item in our bag of tricks to refinish old
frames. The Art Box carries 10 metallic shades in .5
oz. tubes.
Safety Goggles
and Rubber Gloves: The Art Box carries a number
of safety products to make playing with art supplies less
hazardous. We stock flexible rubber gloves, two styles of
goggles, and masks.
Scratch Board:
Take a scratch knife to this smooth black board and
a white line will appear. Perfect for all scraping techniques
and fine detail work. The Art Box carries 4"x6", 8.5"x11"
and 11"x14". Scratch nibs and handles are also available.
Sketcher's
Clipboards: Smooth finished 1/8" hardboard with a
hand hole for carrying, a sure grip clip, and elastic band
to hold a pad, paper or watercolor block. Easy to carry to
a drawing or painting class. 23"x26".
Storage Boxes:
The Art Box carries a variety of storage boxes
to protect your art supplies. They range from small wooden
brush boxes to large plastic carrying cases. We also special
order large Taborets and furniture to hold your art supplies
at home.
Tjanting
Needles: Great tools for Batiking and applying wax
in fine lines. Hot wax is poured into the top of the "needle"
and when it is tipped forward, the wax flows gently through
the hole at the tip. The Art Box carries three sizes.
Uni-Frames:
These handy clip systems hold glass, art and backing
together with no real frame. Uniframe Aluminum Clips will
hold pictures from 8" to 20" in thin metal clips. Uni 20's
will hold up to 20"x20" with plastic clips, and Uni 40's claim
to hold up to 40"x40". We NEVER push them past 24"x36".
