  J. Herbin Inks and Sealing Wax: J. Herbin created "The Jewel of Inks" at his shop on the Rue des Fosses Saint-Germain in Paris in 1700. French school children since the age of Napoleon have used Herbin inks, and Herbin's French Violet is the signature color of handwritten French documents. The Art Box carries a variety of Herbin inks including the special Invisible Ink, Opaque White, Gold and Silver, and the "D" inks, which are pH neutral, lightfast and waterproof. (The "D" refers to the old French unit of measure, "la Demi Courtine".) Each elegantly labeled bottle has an integrated pen rest. The "D" inks are also available in cartridges to fit your favorite pen. We also carry the Herbin Precious Inks, naturally scented with Mint, Lavender, Vervaine, Rose, and Violet. Because of their natural pigmentation, these inks work beautifully with nibs and glass pens, but are not recommended for fountain pen use. Herbin also makes a nice line of traditional and new style sealing wax, the latter is unlikely to break in the mail since it is more flexible. Traditional and contemporary colors are available.   J. Herbin Exquisite Pens: Since 1700, J. Herbin has been fashioning the standard in fine French writing assessories. Herbin's Spiral Glass Pens attract so much attention in our shop we have trouble keeping them in stock. Each pen is made by hand, the colors are so lovely it's hard to choose just one. When dipped into a pot of color, the ink slowly swirls its way down onto the paper as you write, an extremely satisfying experience. Herbin's nibs and pen holders come in a variety of styles for drawing and calligraphy. The nib holders are available in ebony or natural finish wood, and black lacquer. Nibs are available in charmingly labeled matchbox style cardboard boxes or metal tins. The Art Box also carries a variety of sets, some containing inkwells or cartridges and pens as well as an assortment of Calligraphy Pouchettes each containing a pen holder, 5 nibs and an exercise sheet. These come in "Student", "Poetry" and "Music" styles. We also carry the "Pharoah Set" which includes papyrus, bamboo reed pen, and black, gold and blue inks.   Rotring Art and Calligraphy Pens: These pens are crafted from the finest select stainless steel and individually hand finished. Each pen comes with two cartridges of black ink. The extremely high quality of these pens is evident the first time you use them. The ink flows beautifully onto the page and they feel wonderful in the hand. With the optional cartridge converter, you can use your favorite fountain pen ink with the Rotring pens. Made in Germany. The Art Box carries open stock.
  
  Fountain and Calligraphy Pens: The Art Box carries a very nice range of fountain and calligraphy pens. From Pilot Disposable Fountain Pens to Sheaffer's Calligraphy Pens to Speedball's Panache Calligrahy Pens, we have searched our sources for some of the most reasonably priced and interesting fountain pens on the market. We stock ink cartidges to fit Osmiroid calligraphy pens.
  
  Sumi Ink and Pens: Our wonderful assortment of Sumi painting and calligraphy supplies includes traditional ink sticks and stones, premixed ink in bottles (in black and vermillion), bamboo sketching pens, Sumi brushes, and an ingenious pen that has a brush "nib" inserted in the hollow bamboo handle. Sumi painting and calligraphy is a marvelous experience with these terrific tools. Made in Japan. The Art Box carries open stock.
  
  India Inks: The Art Box carries a variety of India Inks from the ubiquitous Higgins India Ink to Koh-I-Noor's marvelous Universal India. We also carry FW's intensely pigmented acrylic-based Black India Ink. Not actually made in India. The Art Box carries open stock.
  
  Block Printing Ink: The Art Box carries two brands of block printing ink. Probably the best selling block printing ink in America is Speedball. This ink has a satiny texture, mixes and tints well and cleans up with water. The Art Box carries 10 colors in stock. We also carry Ocaldo's water based block printing inks in sets of 6 colors in 21 ml tubes. Like all Ocaldo art materials, this ink is a good product at a good price.
  
  Pigma Micron Pens: Permanent India Ink in a graded nib pen, these marvelous pens give you total control for all drawing techniques. Graded from .005 to .08, the line they make is so solid and black, so uniform and even, you'll feel like a draftman from the minute you pick it up. Here at Creative Framing and The Art Box, we have used these pens for the last 15 years to draw the black lines on our french mats. Made in Japan.   Roller Ball Pens: At The Art Box, you will find a wide variety of fun to use pens including Pigma Gelly Roll pens, Uni-Ball Micro, and Uni-Ball Vision Roller Pens as well as Unigel gold and silver roller ball pens. The Art Box carries open stock.
  
  Milky Pens: The pastel colored Milky Gel Rollers have taken America by storm. They are so opaque they will write on any dark color including black. People use them to address fancy invitations, holiday cards, and write in the new black journals that have come on the market to take advantage of these unusual pens. Rumor has it that teenagers around the country are using them to draw temporary tatoos since they will even write on skin. Made in Japan.   Metallic Pens and Markers: A wide range of Metallic Markers from different manufacturers are available at The Art Box. We have gold, silver, and even copper in a variety of tip widths from bold to micro.
  
  Permanent Artists' Markers: Two of the best loved brands of Permanent Artists' markers are carried by The Art Box. Prismacolor double ended Art Markers are available in a wide range of colors. Each marker has a wide chisel tip on one end, and a fine point tip on the other. Artists love the flexibility they have with these wonderful pens. Sharpie markers are known as the marker that will write on anything. Use them on glass, metal, paper, or canvas, they just keep writing! Available in 8 colors and three tip sizes, these markers are some of our best selling products. The Art Box carries sets and open stock.
  
  Highlighters and Specialty Markers: The Art Box carries Highlighters in two tip sizes and three colors. We stock wet erase Vis-A-Vis markers, and dry erase Expo Markers in sets of 4 and 8 colors.
  
  

Children's Markers: In addition to a line of Crayola Markers like Washables and Classic Markers described in our Kids Stuff section, The Art Box also carries Pentel Color Pen markers. These student grade markers are inexpensive and have a very nice point. The colors are beautiful, and they are washable. Made in Taiwan. The Art Box carries sets.
